Psychic Tests

I was working in an HR consultancy whose main task is to recruit candidates for its clients. We had a big office in one of the central areas and used to advertise in the local news papers about the various vacancies available and will ask the applicants to come to the company for a walk in interview. Usually we used to conduct the placements twice or thrice a week and the week ends will be always busy.
After the advertisements are released, applications in the form of CV both in soft copy and the hard copy will be received. There will be a lot of soft copies of resume sent to the official email ID and my task is to scan these resume for a particular job in the software that we have. The software will search for certain key words in the resume and the resume with the maximum occurrences of key words for the specific job will be short listed. Consider for example the candidates are recruited for a sales job, then the key words like selling, conducting, coordinating, team, sales, targets, deadlines etc will be searched by the software in the resume and if there are key words that are specified above in the resume, then the CV will be short listed and pasted in the folder or else the CV is directly sent to the recycle bin. Based on the short listed candidates, the next step is to invite them for psychic tests that will be conducted as a first stage in the recruitment and selection process. After the candidates get assembled for a certain job in the center, psychic tests questionnaire will be given to them to test their mental ability and this will be followed by the aptitude tests to test the numerical and verbal ability of the candidate. The short listed persons from these tests will move to the next stage of the interview and finally the selected candidates are given the offer letter. In some cases, we go to colleges for recruitment and in some universities job fair will be conducted with many companies participating in the job fair and each room in the big hall will be flooded with candidates and there will be a large number of candidates taking the psychic tests at once in the hall and the psychic tests will be conducted in student batches followed by the same methodology that we follow at our consultancy, the finalized candidates will be invited to the consultancy for a HR interview and the selection will be completed. |
